It Will Always Be You! was written for young parents to read with their children, to show that a unique family setting can have a happy ending. This book is a love letter to the children of young parents -- children whose initial years of life might look different from other kids whose parents are older, educated, working full-time, and/or married. Through their words and illustrations, Claudette Davis and Brooke Burhans O'Neil tell a story of profound strength, love, resilience, and hope.

Adorably illustrated and written with a sing-song lyrical style sure to engage babies, toddlers, and pre-schoolers, It Will Always Be You! was first published in 2015 as a unique gift to the graduating seniors from Davis and O'Neil's program. In late 2022, it was published to the mass market so that the millions of children with young parents could finally see themselves and their unique families (which often include grandparents and aunts and uncles -- all living and parenting together) in the books they find at libraries and stores.

It Will Always Be You! is narrated in the voice of the young mother, and the story is told to the child, who learns about what Mom is studying at school, what she does when she goes off to work at the mall, and how much she loves all the special moments with her child -- meal time, story time, holidays, and more. It Will Always Be You! inspires literacy and self-love for non-traditional families.
